Pouring a rich conker red, the smell of this rather fine Amber Ale is toffee and red fruits.
There’s a good citrus swipe from the hops, all sharp pointy leaves, sapling wood pith, lemon juice and grapefruit rind, which cuts right across the sticky and gooey, caramel on French bread of the malts.
With lots of praline, toffee and runny honey giving a thick and relatively sweet body, Bomberdrome would be in danger of becoming sickly if it weren’t for that big hops hit.
Very good.
