I love the fact that this is called a Session Ale at 4.9% ABV.
I don’t know why really, but it tickles me.
And the beer tickles me too, it’s really good and lots of fun.
There’s an almost-Saison aroma, apples and crates and honey and bread dough, and the malts are sticky, peachy Danish pastry with lashings of caramel and a spoonful of brown sugar.
But just as you start to think that everything is getting a bit too sickly sweet the hops jump up and kiss you with their hedgerow spikiness, all hawthorn prickles, nettles, lemon pips and lime leaves that make for a bitter dry finish with a little sweetness on the side.
Lots and lots of fun.
