I love the image of the hand grenade hop on the label of this beer.
It was on Crew Republic’s IPA too, but I didn’t notice it at the time.
Roundhouse Kick is an Imperial Stout and I like it a lot.
Pouring an inky black, the smell is leather and stewed prunes and Marmite.
The malting is heavy as hell, weighing you down with coffee and treacle, almond tart, honey, beef stock and coffee.
The hops are britlle and crisp red leaves and hazel, gluey pine resin and dry pithy orange rind.
What’s more, Roundhouse Kick is an appropriate name for a beer that knocks you senseless with its boozy, oily finish.
