Beavertown Brewery Stingy Jack (7.2%)

Stingy JackWelcome to autumn.
Stingy Jack is a spiced pumpkin beer that I should perhaps have saved for Bonfire Night or Halloween, but I’m glad I didn’t as it’s very nice indeed.
Pouring a deep amber with an enormous fluffy head, the smell is sweet and spicy fruity goodness.
There’s a decent toffee and digestive biscuit malt and some very nice green tea, chard and lemon rind hops, but the thing that makes this beer is its spicy pumpkin.
It’s fleshy and warm, cinnamon, nutmeg and a little star anise, and a deliciously soft fibrous pumpkin.
The only fault that I can find is that Stingy Jack is presented in a 330ml bottle and I’d really like a pint of it.
