Ask me what’s the best Black IPA I’ve ever had.
Go on.
Actually, don’t bother, I’ll tell you.
It’s this one.
Emelisse have brewed such a fabulous BIPA that I’m unsure whether to laugh or cry.
It’s ridiculously good.
From its surprisingly soft satsuma, peach and chocolate aroma to its oddly white head.
And from its delicate and buttery fudge, chocolate, espresso and biscuit malt to its fiercely sharp orange rind, mandarin, kiwi, mango and sherbet sweet hops, this is a quite outstanding bottle of beer.
A bottle of beer that you’ll decide to sip after the first swig in an attempt to make it last that little bit longer.
A bottle of beer whose long and lingering bitter dry finish has left me feeling a bit giddy.
My beer of the year, hands down.
