Crate Brewery Lager (4.8%)

LagerFrom its beautiful rich copper colour to its deep malty sweetness, Crate’s Lager really stands apart from its contemporary British lagered beer.
The aroma is toffee apples and brandy snaps, and the sticky goodness of the smell continues into the flavour.
Big and round and satisfying, you get chewy toffee, biscuit and honey all swimming in apple juice, and some good stinging nettle sharp herbal and peppery hops.
Finally there’s a very nice earthiness that makes the finish mouth filling and sticky, yet crisp and refreshing.
This is very good beer indeed.
