Pressure Drop Brewing Co. Strictly Roots (6.5%)

Strictly RootsYou know how occasionally you get a bottle of beer or have a pint pulled and you just know form the smell that you have something a little bit special?
Strictly Roots is one of those beers.
It’ a Porter brewed with dandelion and burdock – not your overly sweetened fizzy flavoured drink either, this is proper ingredients – and it’s amazing.
The smell alone blew me away.
It’s earthy, dry, dirty almost, dandelion and burdock.
The malting is a face full of burned wholemeal toast, thick honey, a handful of sultanas, cocoa powder and coffee, and there’s some decent redwood, lemongrass and herbal foliage from the hops.
And over all this, but never taking over, is a beautifully rich soily and pithy dandelion and a round sweet burdock root.
This is superb.
