Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project Baby Tree (9%)

Baby TreeOnce upon a time Pretty Things made me write a beer review that bordered on psychedelic psychobabble.
Brautigan-esque lyricism seems to bang away at my skull every time I drink anything by this brewery.
Baby Tree is a Belgian Quad with the most lovely and, it has to be said, disturbing label.
I’m not sure what to say about this as a beer other than it’s absolutely superb.
Liquorice root, rum and raisin, biscuits and magic, think of your favourite Belgian Quad and insert your own description of it here.
Pretty Things make beer that is so good it’s scary.
Nightmarish even.
Like frolicking through tulip fields, past fluffy ducklings and woolly lambs to the Baby Tree.
The Baby Tree is green and lush, and from it grow the heads and limbs of babies.
I’m not the only one to think that’s weird, right?
Take some advice, if you ever see any Pretty Things beer just buy it.
Pretty Things are a pair of English brewers trapped in a very strange Easy Rider/Caroliner Rainbow American dream and the beer they make is singularly astonishing.
I’ll see you on the other side.
