Mikkeller Peter, Pale & Mary (4.6%)

Peter Pale & MaryI love the name of this beer, though I’m not sure what makes this a “Folk Pale Ale” other than it fits with the name.
Regardless of my pedantry, this is yet another example of Mikkeller’s superb brewing.
Pouring a light gold, the smell is a big hit of lemons and apricots.
Peter, Pale & Mary’s malting is shortbread and honey and it’s very nice, but it’s only a base over which the hops can sing their song.
A huge chorus of lemon rind and grapefruit zest, lime and satsuma providing the harmonies, as you’re sung into submission by the super dry bitter finish.
Lovely.
