Rooie Dop The Daily Grind (6.5%)

The Daily GrindWith each Rooie Dop beer that I drink I love this brewery a little bit more.
The Daily Grind is made with coffee from Guatemala and Antigua, and it’s lovely.
Pouring much darker than I expected, the smell is damsons and Lavazza.
There’s a treacle tart malt and a bunch of crispy crunchy leaf letter, maple syrup and nettle tea hops.
And then there’s coffee.
Deep and rich and slightly smoky, it kicks you in the pants, waking you up while the alcohol is trying to put you to sleep.
A bit like the beery equivalent of Julian Cope’s “Out Of My Mind On Dope And Speed”, it chugs along with eyes wide and glazed.
Very cool.
