Unbarred Brewery Benchmark (4.7%)

BenchmarkThis is absolutely superb.
Simple as that.
Benchmark is a home-brewed Session IPA that pours a lovely warm amber with a frothy head and a smell that fills your nose with pine resin, peaches and apricots.
The malting is creamy and salty sweet with toffee and biscuits, and the hops are pin sharp pine needles, orange rind and lime zest, kiwi fruit and sherbet fountains.
And with a finish that’s long and bitter and crisp, I’d happily have a session with Benchmark and its beautifully presented bottle.
And you may be able to join me soon, as I hear rumours that this is going to be brewed on a much larger scale in the near-ish future.
Lovely.
