With an aroma of rosehips and coffee, Moncada’s Stout sits a deep purple brown in my glass.
There’s a decent espresso and bitter chocolate malt served on burned toast coated in honey, and a good hit of green hazel hedgerow undergrowth from the hops.
Floating around the edges is an odd but not in any way unpleasant red wine tannin leathery fug which adds a rich dryness to the cocoa heavy finish.
In a nutshell, very nice.
