Redwillow Brewery Soulless (7.2%)

SoullessSoulless is Redwillow’s Black IPA and it’s one of their better beers.
Pouring a deep purple brown with a ridiculously big frothy head, the smell is Hubba Bubba and putty.
There’s a subtle chocolate and coffee malt, bran flakes and treacle and a hint of Parma Violets before the hops go all sharp and bitter.
You get lemon rind and grapefruit flesh, pithy flower borders and bitter grass clippings.
And with a long bitter finish this is one Redwillow beer I’d happily drink again.
