Siren Craft Brew & To Øl The Tickle Monster (12%)

It’s funny that I should be publishing this today as this beer has just been voted CAMRGB’s Beer Of The Year for 2014.
I wrote this review a few days ago, and now after the vote, it makes for interesting reading (for me at least).
This is what I thought:

The Tickle MonsterThe Tickle Monster is quite nice, with its big bold smell of boozy mango and pineapple.
There’s a very sticky toffee pudding of a malt body and over it lots and lots and lots and lots of hops.
Lots and lots.
They’re zesty and pithy, citrus and peach fuzz, pine wood resin and rolling tobacco, basil, mown lawns and a dusting of pencil shavings – Could that be the cedar that this beer has been aged on?
All of this is amplified by a huge alcohol hit in the finish.
Did I say that Tickle Monster is quite nice?
Actually, it’s bloody marvellous.
