The Wild Beer Co. Yankee Sandwich (4.7%)

Yankee SandwichI love Wild Beer for their playfulness, their adventure, their willingness to experiment, and generally they get things right.
But sadly Yankee Sandwich – a beer brewed with peanut butter, Milk Stout and chocolate – is let down by being absolutely flat and lifeless.
The peanut butter sits in the background giving a subtle creaminess and the chocolate is, well, chocolatey.
There’s a decent enough digestive biscuit and bran flake malt, and you even get a hit of red orange crunchy autumnal leaf litter from the hops.
But the flatness makes everything thin and watery and that’s a shame, because with a little bit of life Yankee Sandwich could be superb.
