Brew By NUmbers 03|01 (6.1%)

0301Brew By Numbers’ Original Porter is a rich, round beauty.
Pouring a deep dark purple brown, the smell is prunes and chocolate.
Taking a mouthful you get a date and fig meatiness, black coffee, plums and a shed load of dark bitter chocolate all dipped in Marmite.
It’s warm and satisfying, and there’s a very good hop presence too, with the Columbus and Bramling Cross giving a fresh green herbal hedgerow hit (you get the beery alliteration for free).
The finish is chocolate spiked with grass clippings, long and bitter and delicious.
Another very good beer from Brew By Numbers.
