Minstrel is a new hop on me and here it’s combined with Admiral and Bramling Cross to create a lovely, and rather English, IPA.
Triptych No. 3 is packed with brambles and willow, blackcurrant, orange marmalade, lettuce and chamomile tea, bracken and lawn clippings.
It’s sharp, spicy, pithy and bitter, but it has a good caramel and wafer malt that provides a solid backbone and a thick rich body edged with burned brown sugar that rounds out the hoppy bitterness and brings some much needed sweetness to the finish of this excellent IPA.
