When Wiper & True get it right which, let’s face it is more often than not, they get it really right.
This is a Porter packed with burned toast and chocolate spread, black coffee and treacle.
It’s a Porter with a good and sharp green hazel and hedgerow undergrowth pithy bitterness.
A Porter that smells of deep dark chocolate as it sits in my glass an inky black with a gentle creamy head.
It’s a very good Porter indeed, and it’s a Porter made even better by the addition of pink peppercorns that pop and crackle away in the background with a round fruity spice heat that adds a delicious extra dimension to the long warm finish.
