I wasn’t expecting this.
I wasn’t expecting this at all.
What I was expecting was a slightly yeasty earthiness and an all spice and farmyard aroma.
I was expecting a light chewy caramel and brioche malt and some fresh stinging nettle and bramble jelly hops.
And I was expecting there to be a sticky honey sweetness.
And I got all of that.
But what I wasn’t expecting and what was an absolutely delicious surprise was the almost eye wateringly sharp bitterness, the fresh tamarind sourness at the edges that puckered my lips.
Honey Saison is superb and I wasn’t expecting that at all.
