Brew By Numbers 03|03 (7%)

030303|03 is Brew By Numbers’ Traditional Porter based on a recipe from 1850 and, unsurprisingly for this little brewery, it’s amazingly good.
So, where do I start?
The smell is rum and chocolate and the flavours begin in the same place.
But there’s far more going on in here.
A meaty Marmite and an amazing plum fruitiness, varnished wood, dandelion and burdock, and a lovely dry crunchy walnut and leaf litter.
And all this keeps returning to that chocolate and rum body, bringing with it some red fruit and a good hit of fresh black coffee.
The finish is treacle sweet, sharp and herbal.
03|03 is a superb beer.
