Oakham Ales Green Devil IPA (6%)

Green DevilI’ve had this several times before but for some reason I’ve never gotten around to writing about it.
And it’s well worth writing about as Green Devil is very good indeed.
The aroma is all pineapple and mango and as you take a swig you find a lovely sticky malt that’s big and round and full of toffee and bran rich biscuits.
But as good as the malting is, it struggles to hold its own under the weight of the wonderfully bitter hopping.
Massive slashes of sharp green herbal leaves, lime zest, passion fruit, sherbet and mango all glued together with a rich sticky pine resin.
Green Devil is my favourite Oakham beer by a country mile.
