Siren Craft Brew Calypso (4%)

CalypsoSuper tart lemon juice hits you square in the face as soon as you attempt to take a swig.
But once you get your chops acclimatised to the sharpness, Calypso is a deliciously refreshing Berliner Weisse.
From the aroma I’m guessing that this bottle is dry hopped with Citra, and to be honest I can’t be bothered to check on the Siren website to see if I’m right (each batch is brewed with a different hop and you can match your bottle’s batch number to the hop on the Siren site).
There’s a soft sweet caramel and wafer malt lurking in the background, but this beer is all about its mega sharp wasp sting sourness that pops and fizzes on your tongue and leaves you with a lovely fresh lemon, lime and honey finish.
Super.
