With its rich round honey and flower blossom aroma, 99 Golden Ale is really rather yummy.
There’s a soft chewy caramel and French bread malt, and some lightly spiced resinous woody hops that give you a sharp bright fresh foliage and passion flower smack in the chops.
But it’s the honey that sets this beer apart.
It’s a strong flavour that somehow manages not to be too much, but makes everything feel warm and sticky and sensuous.
If you don’t like hone you may want to steer clear of 99 Golden Ale, but I love it and I love this beer.
Oh, and the label is ace.
