Belching Beaver Brewery Peanut Butter Flavoured Milk Stout (5.3%)

Peanut Butter Milk StoutThis is extraordinary.
Naughty, but extraordinary.
Brewed with rolled oats and lactose, Peanut Butter Flavoured Milk Stout feels thick and rich and creamy, and the aroma is nothing short of Hershey’s Peanut Butter Cups and espresso.
That’s where the flavours begin too, though I can’t stress enough how they don’t just stay there.
There’s so much going on in here.
Neapolitan ice cream in a wafer, brown sugar, treacle tart, wholemeal bread dough and a piquant herbal spiciness from the hops.
And all the while this beautifully sweet and salty peanut butter and chocolate thing wanders around the inside of your face making you feel like a kid.
Albeit a slightly drunk kid.
But a damned happy kid nonetheless.
I said it was naughty, didn’t I?
Well, in these days of micro brewed, all natural ingredients, a beer with added flavouring this powerful (even if it is a natural flavouring as the bottle suggests) feels rather naughty.
Naughty, but incredibly nice.
