08|03 is a Chocolate Orange Stout.
Sounds good doesn’t it?
Well, it tastes good too.
Pouring black hole dark with a seriously dense cappuccino head, the smell is chocolate and coffee and honey.
Brewed with lactose as well as cocoa and orange zest, the body of 08|03 is lovely sweet milky chocolate, it’s creamy and thick and mouth filling.
And around it there’s a very good woody and resinous red leaf autumnal hopping that provides a much needed bitter edge.
The alcohol adds a decent warmth and weight, and the finish is vanilla pod rich, sweet, sticky, and full of zingy fresh orange.
Lovely.
