Cortez Gold is a, “Belgian Style Blond Ale,” and again Mission have seen fit to present it in a big fat quart can.
Pouring a pale gold, the aroma is spicy bread dough and honey.
There’s a soft and gentle caramel and shortcake malt, with a pinch of white pepper and a spoonful of runny honey from the malt, along with a crisp and piquant herbal hopping that provides green leafy foliage and some pithy lemon zest.
And all of this is underpinned by an earthy Belgian yeast fug that gives the beer an added depth, with mushrooms and spices and sour dough bread that takes you to to a crisp refreshing finish.
