This is an Irish Coffee Milk Stout, brewed with lactose, aged on oak and conditioned with coffee.
And it’s not too shabby, though it’s rather flat.
It’s certainly better than the endless bottles I’ve had from By The Horns over the last few months and found to taste really sour in all the wrong ways.
Perhaps there was a bottling issue and it’s being addressed?
Anyhow, Gift Of The Gab has a good black coffee hit and a sweet spun sugar smoothness.
There’s crunchy red hops, nutty and crisp with autumnal leaves, and a sticky toffee from the malts, along with a decent woodiness from the oak.
I just wish it wasn’t so damned thin and flat.
