Rascal is a London Porter.
It’s alright.
A bit thin, but alright.
The smell is stewed red fruit soaked in coffee and as you take a sip you find black coffee, treacle, tobacco and toasted brown bread.
There’s a delicate liquorice and tamarind hopping edged with bracken and hedgerow greenery, but really this is a beer that’s all about its malts.
And the malts are very nice, I just need a little bit more body, a little bit more substance as everything feels a bit wimpy and slack.
