This is a rather good Best Bitter though I was surprised at the lack of aroma when I opened it.
There was very little other than a vague waft of toffee.
But taking a swig is like experiencing a completely different beer.
With a lovely rich toffee apple and bran biscuit malt, this is a big round comforting and chewy beer with a lightly salted nutty background over which the hops are bitter and sharp nettle tea and lemon rind, aniseed and tamarind, green herbal leaves and grapefruit.
The finish is clean and bright and delightfully bitter.
Perhaps my nose has stopped working?
