Bullet Cluster (great name) is Rocky Head’s Stout.
It’s the first Rocky Head beer I’ve had for an absolute age and it’s very good indeed.
The aroma is smoky coffee and cherries and the beer sits deep and dark in my glass with an enormous cappuccino pillow for a head.
The malting is enormous and super dry with digestive biscuits, burned toast, coffee, bonfires and soot, and the hopping is crunchy and crisp, sticky with marmalade and pine resin and packed with red leaf litter.
And with a finish that’s thick with chocolate coated coffee beans, walnuts, hazelnuts and dates, Bullet Cluster is one hell of a way for Rocky Head to reappear in my life.
