Sadler’s Brewery Boris Citrov (4.7%)

Boris Citrov - 1This is a pretty decent Pale Ale brewed with Amarillo, Chinook and First Gold hops.
It’s not quite the “Orange marmalade ale” that it claims, but it has plenty to offer.
From its honey and orange blossom aroma to its bright golden colour, the beer is appetising in my glass.
There’s a soft malt – Maris Otter pale, Caramalt and wheat to be precise – that provides a fudge and shortcake body, and over this the hops give a good sharp citrus snap with lots of orange and lemon, some walnut woodiness and a fistful of herbal greenery that leads to a good crisp bitter finish.
And at £1.25 from Aldi you can’t really go wrong.
