Caldera Brewing Co. Ashland Amber (5.6%)

Ashland Amber - 1Fresh and fruity and full of sticky wood sap, this is a very nice American Amber Ale.
It slides out of its can a rich amber and smells of redwood, berries and molasses.
The malt is big and rich, round and chewy, stuffed full of toffee and pine nuts, biscuits honey and marshmallow goo.
And there are lots of hops too.
Fresh and piquant green herbal leaves, a woody resinous glue sticking them to your face while lime and lemon, peach, tangerine and grapefruit do their thing.
The finish is bright and sharp at the edges with a sweet gloopy middle.
Very good indeed.
