Thwaites Crafty Dan Lil’ Bewdy (4.2%)

Lil' Bewdy - 1Sadly I find this a little bit bland.
What should and could, and claims to be, fresh and lively, smells a bit cabbagey and feels a bit thin and watery.
You find a decent enough soft caramel and waffle malt, but the hops, and there’s a lot of them in here – Topaz, Galaxy, Summer, Ella, Challenger, Goldings and Motueka to be precise – give nothing more than a slightly fruity sweetness and a little bitter herbal greenery.
And considering what we know these hops can do, they are sadly lacking here.
Very disappointing.
