Crate Brewery Golden (3.8%)

Golden - 1In general Crate make good beer, but even they can’t blow me away with a Golden Ale.
It’s well made and drinkable, pouring a light gold and smelling of straw and caramel, you know, smelling of Golden Ale.
The malting is a well balanced but uninspiring honey and shortcake and there’s a lightly spiced yeast hit before the hops give you a gentle wash of nettle tea, aniseed and lemons.
The finish is a bitter sweet honeyed thing, a Golden Ale thing, a thing that all in all I find so boring it’s hard for me to write anything creative about other than to say that Golden has been well made.
