This is really impressive.
I’m really impressed.
Really.
Edge’s Hoptimista is an American IPA brewed in Spain, and I’ve spoken about the stuff written on their labels elsewhere so I won’t mention it here, mainly because I just want to tell you how good this beer is.
Pouring a deep chestnut brown, Hoptimista smells of redwood and pine and toffee brittle.
The malting is big and round and absolutely packed with chewy molasses and brown bread, peanuts and honey, and the hops are superbly sharp and bitter, cutting across the sweet malts with lime leaves and grapefruit rind, oranges and lemons all glued together with sticky pine resin.
All this makes for a beer with a deliciously mouth-filling bitter sweet finish.
