Hayseed - 1At 3.8% Smuttynose’s Saison is a rather good and easy to drink little beer.
Pouring a pale straw, the aroma is garden flowers and baked potato skins.
Yes, that’s right, baked potato skins.
The malting is light and buttery with croissants, wafers and toffee, and there’s a good earthy spice kick from the yeast.
Across this you get a bitter hazel leaf and green tea hop kick, brightened by lemon zest and sherbet which leads you to a good dry, crisp and clean finish.
