Atlantic Brewery Pilgrim (4.4%)

Pilgrim - 1My second attempt at an Atlantic beer and my second disappointment.
Pilgrim is grim.
It’s a Ruby Ale that has a really nasty sickly bile aftertaste and smells of damp beermats the morning after a night in the pub.
The malting tries hard to give you toffee and raisins and the hops limp towards you and attempt, in a half arsed way, to provide some herbal greenery, but everything is ruined by this terrible acidic, bilious and undrinkable acrid monster that bullies everything else into submission.
Needless to say I poured it away.
