Bootlegger’s Brewery Black Phoenix (6.7%)

Black Phoenix - 1Chipotle Coffee Stout.
Yes please.
If it’s halfway as good as it sounds then I’m sold.
And I have to say, it doesn’t disappoint.
Pouring a deep ruby tinged black, the aroma is cherries and malt loaf, rich and round and fruity, and as you drink your mouth is filled with the most deliciously warm boozy treacle tart, black coffee, liquorice and pumpkin pie.
Chewy and sticky, this sweet dark beauty is tempered by a resinous woody dried herb bouquet and grapefruit zest zing from the hops that nip away at you over the smoky chilli heat that builds and prickles, prickles and builds as you work your way through this velvety dark boozy beer with its soft creamy finish.
Yes please.
