Firestone Walker Wookey Jack (8.3%)

Wookey Jack - 1Hell’s Bells.
Pretty much all of my favourite beery things in one little bottle.
Wookey Jack is a Black Rye IPA that pours a deep dense purple brown and smells of coffee drenched plums.
The beer is thick and sticky and heavy with treacle tart, double espresso, liquorice and the mother of all pumpernickel.
It’s big and woody enough to use as decking around your garden, thick resinous and earthy.
The hopping is full of walnuts and redwood, lime zest, orange marmalade and sherbet coated lemon skins, and there’s also a good rum heat swishing around in the background as you head towards the gloopy sexiness of the finish.
