Another terrific IPA from America’s West Coast, Half Moon Bay’s take starts with a big round and chewy candy floss, peanut brittle, pumpkin pie and sticky toffee malt.
It’s sweet and salty and backed up with crunchy biscuits, but all that goodness is simply a platform from which the hops peel the skin from your tongue with their intensely dry bitter bite.
Grapefruit zest and lemon jelly, mandarin skins and a big bunch of fresh herbs all glued together with pine resin nip at you, make you pucker, draw in your cheeks until you feel so wonderfully parched that you just have to reach for another mouthful of this amber IPA that smells so sweetly and fruitily innocent.
