Mother Earth Brew Co. Cali Creamin’ (5.2%)

Cali Creamin - 1I know a few people haven’t liked this at all, but I do, in the same odd way that I enjoyed Saugatuck’s Neapolitan.
For a start it doesn’t taste very much like beer.
What Cali Creamin’ does taste of (and this is the beer’s whole point) is Cream Soda, a drink I used to love as a child, so maybe there’s some nostalgia mixed in that’s making me like it.
After all, you can barely taste the malts, save for the lightest honey waffle, and any hops in here give nothing more that the lightest snap of hedgerow under the sweet vanilla and runny honey that makes the beer smell like ice cream and taste like a kid’s treat.
I like it but I feel dirty liking it.
