This is superb.
A recreation of an 1885 recipe, this is everything that I want in a Stout.
From its deep dark mahogany colour and its thick fluffy cloud of a cappuccino head, to its spiced damson and coffee on a sideboard aroma, Crafty Stoat had me hooked.
Taking a swig I found a rich and chest warming cocoa and espresso malt packed with burned wholemeal toast, plums, treacle and molasses.
Over this there’s a shed load of Fuggles that provide a sharp herbal twang, earthy dandelion and burdock and lots of hedgerow pithiness that leads you to the creamy dark chocolate finish.
