HasBean, based in Stafford, seem to get everywhere.
They’re nice chaps and they’re big beer fans, so I’m neither annoyed nor surprised by this, but more often than not when I get a Coffee/Breakfast Stout the beans come from HasBean.
Anyhow, this particular Breakfast Stout is rather good, it’s rich and round and sumptuous, packed with treacle and dark chocolate, smoky espresso and burned toast.
The NZ hops add a soft fruitiness that’s more pear and gooseberry than lime, lemon and grapefruit.
It’s all round and soft rather than sharp and bitter, and it makes for a delightfully creamy cappuccino chocolate ice cream finish.
Very good.
