Bräuhaus Bevog Who Cares Milk Stout (5.9%)

Who Cares Milk Stout - 1I find Bevog to be patchy at best, but this, a Milk Stout brewed as part of their Who Cares Limited Edition range, is one of their better beers.
Pouring an inky black, the aroma is stewed plums and black coffee.
Taking a swig you find lots of black coffee, not espresso, not that dense, but that woody yet drinkable warmth you get from a good black coffee.
And there’s plums and prunes too, along with blackberries, wholemeal toast, honey and treacle.
The hops are there but only in a subtle gentle way, with blackcurrant leaf tea, nettles, bracken and lemon rind, and the lactose adds a soft creaminess to the way the beer feels on your tongue.
Very good.
