Brewed as a collaboration with Prairie Artisan Ales, this Saison includes Kaffir Lime, lemongrass, grapefruit and Amarillo.
That’s a lot of extra stuff but it really works, adding all sorts of extra layers to what is at base a solid Saison.
An earthy yeasty aroma is bolstered by a herbal fruitiness that forms the basis of the flavour as the soft caramel and brioche malting lingers subtly in the background, grapefruit zest sparkling over it.
The hopping is a mown lawns, flower borders and hazel leaves, a hint of resin and a load of satsuma skins before the lemongrass goes all perfumed and floral in the long bitter finish.
