I like a good pumpkin beer but this isn’t it.
It pours a nice amber colour but the smell is almost non-existent, just the merest whiff of fruity pumpkin and toffee.
The malting is biscuits and caramel and there’s a decent enough sharp herbal hit from the hops, but the pumpkin and spices are far too subtle and the whole body of the beer feels weak and watery, thin and insipid, and so when you do taste the nutmeg and pumpkin, instead of a spicy earthy flavour you get a bit of an apology as everything goes limp.
Not good.
