Great Heck Brewing Black Jesus (6.5%)

Black JesusI am so sure I’ve had this before, and I was even convinced that I’d reviewed it before.
But it appears not, and so I feel I ought to write about it.
Black Jesus is a Black IPA, and it’s pretty good.
With a chocolate, hedgerow and black currant aroma, the beer pours a deep purple brown into my glass.
There’s a big round treacle, burned toast, bitter dark chocolate and honey malt making up the body, and over it the hops are big and sharp and bitter.
They’re full of wood pulp pithiness, lemon zest, chamomile tea and grapefruit that lead you to a super dry bitter finish.
