This is a big round chewy delight of a beer.
It pours a deep ruby red and smells of toffee and raspberries and warm vinyl seats.
This is a beer that’s all about its malting, and its malting is super.
Mouth filling and luxurious, you find honey and brown bread, treacle tart and doughnuts.
There are hops too, by the way.
ESB Amber has a good nettle and hedgerow green herbal tang, lemon rind pithiness and pine resin that cuts across the brown sugar and sherbet of the rich sweet finish.
Very good indeed.
