Southwark Brewing Co. Potters’ Fields Porter (4%)

Potters' Fileds PorterThere’s a nice dry, almost chalky finish to this little bottle of beer, and it has some good flavours going on too.
You find lots of coffee and chocolate, some honey and a treacle tart from the malts, and a bunch of dry herbs, garden flowers and hedgerow greenery from the hops.
But there’s a not altogether pleasant gassy smell that gets right up your nose with a bit of a burned match sulphurous edge, and it spoils what would otherwise be a perfectly decent beer.
