The Ilkley Brewery Co. Joshua Jane (3.7%)

Joshua JaneOn the whole I like Ilkley Brewery’s beer, but this one is a little bit bland, a little bit boring.
It’s a Bitter with barely any aroma save for the slightest waft of caramel, the beer sitting a decent enough copper in my glass.
The malting is toffee and biscuits and there’s a lightly bitter herbal hop with hints of aniseed, but that’s where it all ends.
Everything is a bit thin and watery, a bit apologetic, the beer feeling very limp in the finish, and I’m surprised because Ilkley are usually far better than this.
